Esperanza Health Center, a faith based bilingual primary care health center ministry serving the Latino and underserved communities in Philadelphia, seeks a full-time Director of Behavioral Health and Social Services. The Director of Behavioral Health and Social Services (BH/SS Director) leads the behavioral health and social services teams to facilitate fully-integrated care that meets patients’ physical, behavioral, and social needs within Esperanza’s holistic primary care model, providing program oversight to ensure attainment of clinical benchmarks for quality care and productivity in compliance with program goals and contracts. Managerial duties for behavioral healthcare include establishing clinical practice policy; supervision of behavioral health consultants; case conferencing; creating and reviewing treatment plans as needed; development of in-service training on evidence-based treatment modalities; management of annual budget; and collection and analysis of data for quality improvement, grant writing and evaluation. The BH/SS Director is also responsible for collaboration with clinical, administrative, and community health departments within Esperanza as well as various community providers to ensure holistic care. The BH/SS Director is a working leader who provides patient care as a clinical practitioner, practicing evidence-based treatment modalities and appropriate documentation. The BH/SS Director also supervises the Social Services and HIV Care team, focusing on patients’ social needs to prevent barriers to care and providing oversight of program development, budgets, and grants management. This position reports directly to the Executive Director and works closely with clinical, department, and administrative staff throughout the Health Center. This position will be available starting in August of 2017.
Master’s degree in Social work or doctoral degree in psychology Licensure in Pennsylvania (or eligible for PA licensure) in Clinical Social Work (LCSW) or Clinical Psychology (PsyD) Bi-lingual in English and Spanish, or willingness to participate in overseas language immersion training, required Strong oral and written communication skills; Minimum of two years’ experience in clinical care, post-licensure; prior management experience preferred Demonstrated knowledge of trauma-informed care and providing culturally competent care; previous experience in an integrated behavioral health setting preferred. Proficient computer skills; experience in electronic medical records preferred. Proven management and solid interpersonal skills, including ability to deal with patients and staff effectively in high-stress situations. Must be able to comply with state requirements for criminal background check, child abuse clearance and FBI fingerprint clearance.
