An individual working under this job title shall be licensed or accredited as eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of PA. Under this job title the individual shall have a ‘collaborative’ agreement with one of the ReDCo Group psychiatrist’s allowing them to practice with some clinical autonomy, yet insuring at least 20% of the individual’s clinical work is supervised by the same psychiatrist. SUMMARY A person in this position functions under the working title of Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. Assignments are varied in nature and are performed under the direct supervision of the Outpatient Site Supervisor. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Abides by all current Behavioral Health Services and Outpatient policies and procedures as set forth by the agency and documents all required aspects of job duties.
- Maintains compliance with state and local regulations as well as Medical Practice standards of practice including screening for Co-occurring disorders, utilization of harm reduction philosophies as appropriate, completing risk assessments at every visit, and screening for metabolic syndrome through review of vitals and routine lab work as medically indicated.
- Provides comprehensive clinical evaluations for adults and youth according to best practice standards utilizing the EMR to complete documentation
- Engages patients in treatment demonstrating respectful considerate care and practices shared decision making in evaluating benefits, risks and consequences of prescribed medications, treatments and or coping skills
- Completes medication reviews with clients as assigned
- Participates in Shared-Decision making with all clients and utilizes the Decision Support Center for patient education, health report review, and understanding of patient Personal Medicine and Power Statements
- Makes clinical recommendations to the treatment teams including frequency and duration of treatment and confirms intensity meets level of care to sufficiently stabilize and treat the client
- Applies psychological principles, methodology, and techniques to plan treatment and modify behavior and participates in a multi-disciplinary team meetings while providing individual, group, and family psychotherapy from Intake through discharge; provides community linkages as required.
- Participates in staff development, in-service training sessions, supervision, and Performance Quality Improvement initiatives and performs related work as required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE - Master’s degree in nursing from an accredited school
- Must have experience working in the Psychiatric field
- PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Registered with DEA for prescriptive authority
- Nationally certified “ANCC”
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, and REGISTRATIONS - PA Driver’s license required
- Malpractice insurance
QUALIFICATIONS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents. Ability to read, understand, and abide by all policies and procedures for agency and program as well as all State regulations and COA standards. Ability to communicate medical recommendations clearly to clients. Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts such as simple addition and time keeping. Ability to calculate medications and prescriptions to ensure accuracy of prescription and medication coverage until follow up appointment Ability to define problems, and perform required job duties during emergency situations.
