This Social Worker position is located at the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System in North Little Rock, Arkansas within the Mental Health Service's Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Program. The incumbent is assigned to provide evidence-based SUD treatment to patients with a substance use disorder and oftentimes other co-morbid mental health disorders. Incumbent provides input in clinical program development and program effectiveness, measuring outcomes and modifications of service patterns. Duties include but are not limited to: Performs case finding functions, identifying and screening patients for psychosocial needs. Implements treatment modalities to achieve treatment goals for individuals, families and groups. Completes psychosocial assessments and collaborates with the Veteran/family to develop treatment plans. Offers psychosocial interventions, and measures outcomes of such interventions. Coordinates services to address Veteran's treatment goals, including coordinating community-based partners, other VA programs, and other government entities. Identifies high risk patients and provides crisis intervention services. Demonstrates fundamental knowledge of medical and mental health diagnoses, disabilities, and treatment procedures. Identifies and assesses risk, safety, and implements appropriate intervention/treatment for those who are experiencing abuse, neglect, exploitation or are experiencing domestic or intimate partner violence.
