Overview We have a full time Social Work position open at the University of Minnesota Masonic Childrens Hospital supporting our Maternal Child Health team. Social workersinitiate services with families being seen in the U of M MaternalFetal MedicineClinic, Antepartum Unit, Labor & Delivery, Postpartum Unit or the NICU. Patients have the same social worker across the continuum of care to optimize support, enhance relationship building, and provide continuity. The Social Worker provides a wide range of clinical social work services and interventions to assist individuals, families, groups or communities to restore, enhance or protect their capacity for productive social functioning and coping with the consequences of their illness and health care status. They are able to assume independent practice and takes a leadership role in patient care, program and professional issues that they confront in their daily practice with minimal supervisory guidance.
