Learn more The Social Work Supervisor (ARMOR Program Manager) serves as a Senior Social Worker and supervisor of the At-Risk Monitoring and Outreach (ARMOR) Program at the Orlando VA Healthcare System (OVAHCS). The ARMOR Program has oversight of the Suicide Prevention and REACH Vet Programs and Post-discharge Engagement (PDE) monitoring. The Social Work Supervisor is responsible for the administrative oversight of the multidisciplinary team serving Veterans enrolled in the OVAHCS and consultation with and education of staff within the system. Major duties include but are not limited to: The incumbent provides administrative and clinical oversight of the multidisciplinary team and monitors veterans deemed to be at high risk for self-harm. The incumbent provides education to all frontline and clinical staff regarding risk factors and protective factors for suicide. The incumbent educates the clinical staff regarding safety planning with their patients, networking with community partners, providing programmatic guidance for the team of suicide prevention specialists, monitoring the PDE SAIL measure, and provides timely and accurate responses to all action items regarding the Suicide Prevention/REACH Vet Programs. The incumbent serves on committees, participates in workgroups, and engages in educational activities for staff and trainees. The incumbent has the knowledge to practice at the advanced level and has one year of experience equivalent to the GS 12 grade level. Experience must demonstrate possession of advanced practice skills in mental health and, more specifically, with suicide prevention. The incumbent must be able to provide supervision for licensure. The incumbent guides staff in setting goals and priorities in line with the OVAHCS established mission. The incumbent functions as a field instructor supervising social work trainees. The incumbent serves on committees at the Medical Center, VISN, National level and represents the Medical Center at professional events. The incumbent provides a full range of psychosocial and psychological services and possesses a thorough knowledge and experience in the use of mental health diagnoses, disabilities, and treatment procedures, including acute, chronic, and traumatic illnesses. The incumbent is responsible for mandatory reporting of abuse, neglect, or exploitation, educating the veteran, family, and individuals. Preferred Experience: Experience in providing supervision and program management. Experience in Mental Health Social Work, experience in community based work, experience working with persons who have serious mental illness.
