Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor (Substance Use Disorder Services)
As a Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor (LPMHC) with the NAVAHCS Substance Use Disorder Services (SUDS) program you will assume responsibility for the provision of psychotherapeutic services to Veterans who are admitted for substance use and co-occurring disorder rehabilitation. You will interview Veterans/significant others and complete psychosocial assessments which will include data pertinent to the development of an effective treatment plan. The SUDS LPMHC performs consultation to NAVAHCS providers in the area of substance use and substance use disorders, and related areas of specialty. As a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team you must have an understanding of best practice evidence based treatments. Treatment modality shall be consistent with the needs, as well as
