The incumbent serves as the Clinic Operations Manager for the Lubbock Community-Based Outpatient (LCOBC) Behavioral Health Clinic of the Amarillo VA HealthCare System (AVAHCS). Essential Program Management Responsibilities: The COM-LOPC has broad responsibility for clinic management of the Lubbock Behavioral Health Clinic located at the LOPC in the AVACS. This clinic provides specialized behavioral health care that significantly impacts the safety and wellbeing of Veterans. Clinic staff include a multidisciplinary team that consists of psychiatrists, psychologists, nurse practitioners, social workers, registered nurses, peer support, and administrative staff. Exercises supervisor authorities and responsibilities involving work assignment and review, as well as the administrative and personnel management functions relative to the staff supervised. The Social Worker performs a wide range of services and provides technical assistance to State, local, and private agencies, and universities. Technical assistance provided to monitor activities and program reviews, and the development and analysis of information. In addition, the incumbent uses sound judgment in the interpretation of trends and patterns; the application of guidelines; and the recommendation of program enhancements. The incumbent performs program analysis, development, review, research, design, and contact work as possible with various agencies (public, DOD, state, etc.). Performs work related to the review, monitoring, analysis, planning and assessment of various programs. Responsible for key project activities related to the planning, development, and implementation of the project component. A substantial portion of the workload directed by this position will be carried out at one or more locations that are physically removed from the main unit under conditions that make day-to-day supervision difficult to administer. This position supervises an organizational unit. Performs other related duties as assigned. Clinical Responsibilities: Clinical responsibilities include but are not limited to: conducting behavioral health assessments, triaging and making referrals for patients with behavioral health needs, conducting inter-disciplinary multi-program treatment meetings for care planning purposes, championing and providing evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions as indicated, assessment of safety risk and dangerousness to self and others, and education and consultative services regarding a wide range of behavioral health concerns. The COM-LOPC will, as part of the positions' clinical time, provide or ensure the provision of the required clinical consultation and care coordination responsibilities with Lubbock Vet Center staff.
