This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Basic Requirements: Citizenship. United States Citizen Education. Have a master's degree in social work from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Graduates of schools of social work that are in candidacy status do not meet this requirement until the school of social work is fully accredited. A doctoral degree in social work may not be substituted for the master's degree in social work. Verification of the degree can be made by going to the CSWE website to verify if that social work degree meets the accreditation standards for a master of social work. Licensure. Persons hired or reassigned to social worker positions in the GS-185 series in VHA must be licensed or certified by a state to independently practice social work at the master's degree level. Current state requirements may be found on the OHRM website. Individuals assigned as social worker program coordinator must be licensed or certified at the advanced practice level and must be able to provide supervision for licensure. English Proficiency: Must be proficient in spoken and written English. Preferred Experience: Prefer program implementation experience, motivational interviewing experience, and whole health coaching experience. Grade Determination Requirement: GS-12 Social Worker Program Coordinator Experience and Education. One year of experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level. Experience must demonstrate possession of advanced practice skills and judgment, demonstrating progressively more progressively more professional competency. Candidate may have certification or other post-master's degree training from a nationally recognized professional organization or university that includes a defined curriculum/course of study and internship, or equivalent supervised professional experience. Lincensure/Certification. Individuals assigned as a social worker program coordinator must be licensed or certified at the advanced practice level, and must be able to provide supervision for licensure. Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities, KSAs. In addition to the experience above, the candidate must demonstrate all of the following KSAs: 1) Knowledge of program coordination and administration which includes consultation, negotiation, and monitoring. 2) Knowledge and ability to write policies, procedures, and/or practice guidelines for the program. 3) Ability to supervise multidisciplinary staff assigned to the program. 4) Skill in organizing work, setting priorities, meeting multiple deadlines, and evaluating assigned program area(s). 5) Ability to provide training, orientation, and guidance within clinical practice. Physical Requirements: Must be in overall good health, able to sit at a desk, working on a computer, engage in light to moderate physical activity including sitting, walking, bending and carrying supplies. ["The Program Whole Health Coordinator duties include, but are not limited to: Serves as contact and coordinator for National and local Employee Whole Health opportunities and conducts program evaluations and tracks outcomes to assess and improve program effectiveness. Is responsible for developing, managing, maintaining, planning and administering health and well-being opportunities for the Health Care System including CBOC employees. Works collaboratively with all staff levels within the facility including Executive Leadership, Employee Experience/Engagement, Whole Health, System Redesign, Occupational Health, unit supervisors, and others in assessing, developing and maintaining staff employee whole health activities. Oversees daily program operations, develops policies and procedures for program operations, prepares reports, for statistics for facility, VISN, and national use. Provides leadership, direction, orientation, coaching, in-service training, staff development, and continuing education programs for assigned staff. Oversees program operations and evaluations, identifying areas for improvement, gathering relevant data, assessing data, developing and implementing improvement ideas, and evaluating improvement efficacy efforts. Responsible for program budget, developing and monitoring staff compliance with for documentation workload, data entry, ethical practice and service delivery practices, standards and guidelines. Provides clinical program data and computerized programs analysis and evaluation to identify system-wide trends and needs to enhance service quality. May be responsible or contribute to, program's resources and fiscal management, monitoring control points, developing annual budgets, operating within the budget, and accounting for appropriate funds. Provides annual budget recommendations. Establishes and chairs the Employee Whole Health Committee. Assembles a diverse planning interdisciplinary team of health professionals and representatives from various services within the healthcare system. Develops a charter, goals and strategic plan for the Employee Whole Health program and updates it annually. Writes proposals for annual funding opportunities from the national Employee Whole Health program office. Consults with Employee Whole Health Committee to determine funding priorities and completes application process in a timely manner. If funded, ensures funds as spent according to guidelines and all proposal requirements are met. Represents Employee Whole Health on the Whole Health Committee and ensures collaboration on wellness initiatives that benefits both Veteran patients and employees. Conducts employees needs assessments to determine program needs and interests. Develops core program components based on assessment results. Collaborates with other services to address employee health needs based on assessments. Identifies employees at highest risk for injury or illness and develops strategies to lessen risks to mitigate or lessen risks. Develops and delivers classes/training materials, seminars, workshops on various Employee Whole Health topics such as, nutrition, physical activity, and mental health topics. Responsible for scheduling, approving instructors, selecting classes and activities, and organizing events. Ensures newly hired employees receive Employee Whole Health introduction during New Employee Orientation, NEO. Uses available individual health assessments to determine employee wellness strengths and opportunities and tracks employee improvement and goals attainment. Maintains high visibility for Employee Whole Health program. Promotes and encourages maximum participation. Makes recommendations to improve program delivery to facility leadership.
