Our dedicated team of physicians and staff has helped St. Mary�s Medical Center achieve top quality awards through The Birthplace, our Level I Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, Level III NICU and more. St. Mary�s Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation team provides therapy services to both pediatric and adult populations along the continuum of care, from acute care to inpatient rehabilitation and outpatient therapy.

Job Description:

Our outpatient therapy center houses both adult and pediatric physical, occupational and speech therapy. We have recently moved to a newly renovated building on the St. Mary�s Medical Center campus. We are looking for a highly passionate and skilled speech therapist to join our team. Our speech therapists evaluate and treat patients from late adolescent to geriatric years of age with a variety of speech, language, cognitive and swallowing disorders due to neurological impairments, traumatic brain injury and other acquired diseases. Our speech therapists treat patients in private treatment rooms. Our mission is to provide high quality, comprehensive therapy, focusing on enhancing the health, behavior and functional performance of our patients through a multidisciplinary approach.

Job Duties:

• Performs and documents initial and ongoing assessments of patients condition
• Designs and implements a plan of care with functional goals
• Educates patients and families regarding treatment plans and progress
• Opportunities to train in other settings across the hospital campus (ie. acute care)

Education

Required: Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology/Communication Sciences and Disorders

Experience

Minimum of 1 year outpatient experience for this Speech Therapist role, experience in swallow studies preferred

Certifications/License

Required:

• State License and Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA
• BLS (American Heart Association)
• Florida Speech Therapist Licensure

Candidates in unit have priority based on unit seniority
