About the PositionProvide direct care and supervision for older adults with emotional & behavioral disorders in a therapeutic residential treatment environment. Possess an understanding of appropriate interactions with older adults and enjoy working with a challenging mental health population. This position works in a milieu setting, providing conflict resolution, symptom management and teaching independent living skills. In the absence of or as assigned by the Administrator, the Assistant to the Administrator will provide clinical services and treatment as per Washington Administrative Code.

Provides residential services to older adult clients living in the community, including monitoring facility and residents, and providing for the safety of residents. Follows and supports individualized treatment plans as developed by case managers. Secures needed resources. Educates clients about mental illness. Re-teaches independent living skills. Monitors for decompensation. Provides crisis services. The above services are primarily provided in the community or in the client's home. Document and complete clinical notes in compliance with agency policy and procedure, as well as County, State and Federal regulations. Complete clinical documentation in compliance with assessment and treatment plan to ensure medical necessity requirements in Epic Provides all required annual documentation to Human Resources and completes all required Relias Learning training in a timely manner Participate in scheduled staff meetings, supervision, and other departmental meetings. Adhere to mandatory abuse reporting laws and HIPAA requirements. Supports a system-wide understanding of trauma prevalence, impact and trauma informed care. Fosters healing, hopeful, honest and trusting relationships for consumers and employees; Value consumer voice, choice and self-advocacy. Demonstrates a commitment to cultural competence. Promotes a safe, calm and secure environment with supportive care and family-driven services that are trauma specific and promote recovery and wellness. Follows organization infection control policies and procedures. At risk for exposure to blood borne pathogens.Education and/or Experience BSW or BA/BS in psychology, social work or related field is required. At least two years related experience in Social Services working with the mentally ill older adults. (Residential experience preferred). Washington State agency affiliated counselor registration required prior to beginning direct care responsibilities. Effective written and verbal communication skills required. Current CPR, First Aid, and food handlers permit. Current Washington State Driver's License with proof of automobile insurance; ability to use own car in provision of services.Supervisor ResponsibilitiesThis position directly supervises the High West Residence employees and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; monitoring performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.Personal Traits & QualificationsPossess the knowledge, values, attitude and skills to create a trauma-informed, safe, trusting healing environment that respects the perspectives and experiences of the individuals, families, staff and communities we serve with safety and healing.Physical DemandsConsumer care delivery may involve lifting, pushing, pulling, twisting, and stooping requiring upper and lower body strength. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is at risk for exposure to blood borne pathogens. Employee must follow organization infection control policies.
