Work Hours/Shift:
Full Time/ Days & Nights - 3 Days -12hours shifts - 7 - 7
You Will Be Responsible For:
- Assists patients with activities of daily living (ADL)
- Provides or assists with providing direct patient care, diagnostic procedures, and therapeutic interventions
- Observes and records patient behaviors and activities
- Reports changes in patient conditions to appropriate personnel and recommends treatment plan modifications
- Establishes therapeutic relationships with assigned patients
- Works directly with patients, family members, physicians, and community providers to ensure collaborative and continuous care
- May be required to manage daily group activities
- Assists patients to perform routine activities of daily living
- Recognizes potential escalation of behavior and has ability to use appropriate verbal and physical interventions
- Recognizes potential safety hazards, intervenes for the safety of patients, visitors and staff and notifies appropriate department or person for correction of the problem
- Assists in restraint situations: utilizing de-escalation skills to prevent restraints, applying restraints when needed with RN direction, maintaining patient safety, appropriate documentation of patient behaviors and interventions
- Performs other duties as assigned
QualificationsWhat You Will Need:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association
- Aggression Management certification required during orientation
- High school degree or equivalent
- Ability to communicate appropriately professionally and effectively with patients and their family, hospital staff, nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the health care industry
- Up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements and local, state, and national laws
- Ability to understand and process instructions from physicians and other personnel
- Proficiency in computer systems to enter and track patient records
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English
Preferred:
- Associate's degree or Technical degree in a related field, or specific certification related to position
- One year of healthcare setting
