Individuals assigned as supervisory social workers must be licensed or certified at the advanced practice level, and must be able to provide supervision for licensure. (3) Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities. In addition to the experience above, the candidate must demonstrate all of the following KSAs. (a) Skill in coordinating and implementing one or more specialty program(s), across the facility. At this grade level, social worker program coordinators oversee the administrative and clinical aspects of a major specialty treatment program, such as, but not limited to: Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Substance Abuse Treatment Program, Home-Based Primary Care, Mental Health Intensive Case Management, Caregiver Support Program or Transition and Care Management Program, or a combination of programs located at one facility or multiple divisions of a facility. They are responsible for coordinating interdisciplinary staffing, work assignments, budget, treatment services provided, and admission criteria for the program. The program coordinator may or may not have supervisory responsibilities. They have full responsibility for all phases of service delivery for a major specialty program. The program coordinator is responsible for the program's resource and fiscal management, monitoring control points developing the annual budget, operating within that budget, and accounting for appropriated funds. MPD is the largest of the mental health clinics in the VA Palo Alto Health Care System, with approximately 20,000 encounters per year. There are approximately 30 multi-disciplinary staff, and another 30 rotating trainees at MPD, and the incumbent has administrative oversight over the entire clinic. The Fremont CBOC has approximately 1,000 encounters per year, and 8 Mental Health staff, and works closely with GMC at FRC. Incumbent has administrative oversight over this entire clinic, as well.\nThe incumbent is responsible for the delivery of all mental health services in both of these clinics which includes assessment, treatment, referrals and case management for the mentally ill and medically fragile veteran population, using a multidisciplinary team approach. A wide range of bio-psycho-social rehabilitation services are provided through case management, crisis intervention, brief and evidence-based treatment for individual and group therapy. In addition to coordinating all general mental health services, incumbent also oversees specialty services including the Women's Counseling Center and the Intimate Partner Violence Program, and works closely with the Family Therapy Training Program, the Stanford Psychology Training Program, PTSD Clinical Team, Addiction Treatment Services, Domiciliary Programs, Trauma Recovery Programs, MHICM, Choice Program, and Compensated Work Therapy programs to coordinate care and treatment for veterans.\nAdditionally, Incumbent is the Supervisory Social Worker for MPD and FRC, and directly oversees the administrative, clinical and technical work of Mental Health Social Workers in the Mental Health Clinic at these sites.
