The University seeks a full-time, 11-month, MSW Program Director, for its Master of Social Work Department on the Mount Vernon online campus, beginning immediately. The position reports to the Dean of the School of Graduate and Professional Studies. Rank will be Associate or Full Professor, commensurate with experience. Compensation will be competitive with institutions within the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities. Responsibilities for this position include:
Manages the Master of Social Work (MSW) program, accreditation, curriculum development, virtual instruction, recruitment and retention of MSW students, liaison between the MSW Program, the BSW Program, and other University Departments, and carries out the policies and procedures mandated by the Master of Social Work Department. This includes:
Assume the primary responsibility of initial/ongoing accreditation/reaffirmation process with CSWE, including assessment activity
Hiring, recruiting, orienting, supporting, and evaluating qualified, mission-fit faculty to teach and advise in the MSW program
Ensure the quality of teaching through a review of all course evaluations and oversight of all faculty assignments.
Reporting annually to the Dean of the School of Graduate and Professional Studies, Office of Academic Affairs, and others, as needed
Conduct annual institutional assessments of student learning and effectiveness
Coordinate all aspects of the MSW Program
Engage in virtual classroom instruction
Collaborating with the Dean of Graduate and Professional Studies, the Office of Admissions, and the Marketing department to support recruitment of new students
Course Scheduling
Advising of MSW Students
Engage in scholarship and service
Curriculum development in conjunction with the MSW Faculty
Work in conjunction with the MSW Field Education Director closely to oversee placements, field experiences, partnerships, etc.
Serving the University through Committee participation and other assigned tasks
Qualifications for the successful candidate:
Evangelical Christian statement of faith, experience and mission fit
Doctoral Degree in Social Work from a CSWE-accredited program or similar discipline and MSW from a CSWE-accredited program
Social Work licensure (LISW or LISW-S) with current/recent experience in the Social Work field
A minimum of five (5) years of post-master’s social work degree practice experience, seven (7) years of experience preferred
Evidence of effective graduate-level instruction and research supervision
Ability to demonstrate leadership ability in higher education
Excellent written and verbal communication
