Responsibilities:
The Behavioral Health Technician is responsible for supporting the therapeutic milieu under the direction of the RN or LPN/LVN, by ensuring that the schedule /program is consistently delivered, patients are supervised, that safety is maintained, and patients and families are treated with dignity and respect. Responsibilities also include assisting patients with activities of daily living care and crisis intervention.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
- Ability to project a professional image
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements and hospital policies and procedures
- Working knowledge and ability to apply professional and ethical standards of practice in job situations
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Must demonstrate flexibility to meet the needs of all patients
- Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions (order entry, data entry)
- Persons who have been found guilty by a court of law of abusing, neglecting, or mistreating individuals in a health care related setting are ineligible for employment in this position
- Freedom from use of and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma.
- Previous experience in a Psychiatric health care facility or working with geriatric patients preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Certificate from an accredited Nurse Technician program or nursing assistant training preferred.
