Position Summary

This is a PRN (as needed) position

This position provides direct academic instruction and support to elementary, middle, and secondary school age patients in the acute, outpatient, and rehabilitation settings. This position also communicates and coordinates with patient`s home school to maintain or further academic progress. Plans and implements special events for the Hospital`s school.

Education

• Bachelor`s Degree and 10 years of teaching experience in a hospital school program OR Master`s Degree or PhD in Education or Special Education. (Required)

Experience

• Experience using Microsoft Office applications. (Required)
• Hospital classroom experience. (Preferred)
• Two (2) years classroom experience in Special Education. (Preferred)

Certifications

• Current AZ Department of Education Teacher Certification or out of state certification with the ability to obtain an AZ certification within two years from date of hire. (Required)
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association. (Required)
• Special Education Certification. (Preferred)
