Company DescriptionThe Greater Lakes Recovery Center (RC) is a 16 bed inpatient facility, which provides medically necessary involuntary and voluntary services to adults, regardless of ability to pay. The Recovery Center is located at 14016 South "A" St Parkland, WA 98444. You will work side by side with well experienced/veteran nurses as well as Mental Health Professionals, Peer Counselor, Mental Health Technicians and ARNPs. We offer robust training and orientation to promote your success and career growth within Greater Lakes Recovery Center. The RC operates 24 hours a day, seven days per week on a year-round basis to provided recovery oriented, trauma-informed treatment for individuals in our community through a highly intensive program which involves the individual, family and significant others in the treatment and discharge planning process. Position Summary & Mission Work with a multi-disciplinary team to provide effective mental healthcare to help clients identify goals that promote recovery and assist them in identifying services and activities to help reach these goals. Assist clients in their recovery from temporary periods of acute symptoms to help them attain or resume their capacity for independent living. Peer MHT's are well grounded in their own recovery and model competency in ongoing coping skills. They help clients identify goals that promote recovery and assist them in identifying services and activities to help reach these goals. At the Recovery Center, Peer MHT's assist clients in their recovery from temporary periods of acute symptoms to help them attain or resume their capacity for independent living. Participate in staff review of Treatment Plans, assist in client wake ups (may include help with basic hygiene), engage clients in therapeutically appropriate interactions, help prepare meals, assist with linens, and help create a safe and therapeutic environment for clients through constructive milieu management. Lead groups in recovery skills, arts and crafts, and leisure activities. Assist with general upkeep of the facility and documentation of the work that is done and of the progress of the clients. Responsibilities
Serve as a "recovery coach" to clients, collaborating with the client and their clinician to develop an effective service plan to support the client's goals and clinical Treatment Plan.
Manages all required paperwork and records and prepares documentation (forms, reports, etc.) when needed
Helps clients attain their goals, providing hope and motivation, as clients heal and develop resiliency
Provides one-on-one counseling and community resource information Qualifications
Requires a high school diploma/GED and two years relevant experience preferred. Prefer an AA in a social services related field and experience working with mentally ill clients in a residential or inpatient setting. Other combinations of education and experience that provide the required familiarity and skills may be considered.
Peer MHT: Self-identify as a consumer who has received mental health services and can demonstrate that they have been well grounded in their own mental health recovery for at least one year.
Must be eligible for Washington State Agency Affiliated Counselor.
Experience working in an inpatient psychiatric setting strongly preferred
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
Excellent computer and Microsoft Office skills
Knowledge of community resources
