We are looking for Surgical Technologists who want to work with a great team in providing safe patient care in the OR. The ideal candidate will provide excellent care in a fast-paced environment. This team likes to have fun doing their jobs. The Christian NE Surgical Services is made up of 54 team members. 7 of which is dedicated to the CVOR Unit.
The ideal candidate will work 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., Monday - Friday. On-call will include weekends and holiday call, however expect to be on call at least 1 - 2 times/week and 1 weekend monthly.

Overview
Christian Hospital is a full-service acute care community hospital located on 28 acres in north St. Louis County. Christian Hospital is noted for its excellence in heart services and lifesaving cardiothoracic surgery, emergency medicine, breast health services, orthopedic/spine surgery, hyperbaric wound care, pain management, vascular surgery, endocrinology, gastrointestinal care, stroke care, nephrology, therapy, radiology, urology, pulmonary care and treating sleep disorders.
Northwest HealthCare, located six miles west of Christian Hospital, provides the community 24-hour emergency care, with Washington University Physicians and St. Louis Children’s Hospital providing pediatric services. Northwest HealthCare is also home to the Sleep Disorders Center and a variety of full-service outpatient diagnostic and imaging services in a convenient setting.
The Surgical Services Department performs emergency, trauma, elective, in-patient, out-patient, and ambulatory/same day surgery. ASD also does pre-and post-procedure assessment and recovery of special procedures patients, and pre-procedure assessment of cardiac cath lab patients. Specialties include general surgery, orthopedics, GU, GYN, thoracic, ophthalmic, vascular, plastic, neuro, dental, ENT, endoscopic, cardiovascular, and podiatry.

Role Purpose
Performs surgical duties for operating room procedures under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.
Responsibilities
Prepares operating room for surgical patient, reviews preference cards to determine surgeon needs, obtains the necessary supplies and equipment for the procedure, ensures cleanliness of room, and assists with opening sterile supplies.
Performs surgical scrub duties, and assists with the collection, identification, and disposition of cultures and specimens.
Assists in turning over of room, and ensures supplies, instruments, and equipment are returned to proper location.
