The Department of Family Medicine at the University of Virginia Health Systems is seeking candidates for an open-rank clinician educator to work in the UVA Primary Care Center and Western Albemarle Family Medicine practices. The incumbent will be responsible for direct patient care 3 half day outpatient sessions/week in Crozet and precepting residents in the Primary Care Center 2 sessions/week. The incumbent will cover up to 10 weeks/year of inpatient coverage and serve as Family Medicine Inpatient Medical Director. This position will also serve as Core Faculty for the UVA Family Medicine Residency, including teaching and supervision of residents and participation in residency leadership, including program administration, curriculum development and resident and program evaluation.
Qualified candidates must have an MD or DO and be board-certified or board-eligible by either the American Board of Family Medicine or the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians by the start date. Preference will be given to candidates who practice obstetrics, have experience with care of hospitalized patients, those with procedural or POCUS experience and have residency teaching experience or have completed a fellowship in family medicine.
