DMC Detroit Receiving Hospital, Michiganâ��s first Level I Trauma Center, helped pioneer the evolution of emergency medicine and currently has one of the busiest and most well-equipped emergency departments anywhere. The first and largest verified burn center in the state is at Receiving, and it is one of only 43 in the nation. Receiving also offers the stateâ��s leading 24/7 hyperbaric oxygen program, Metro Detroitâ��s first certified primary stroke center, and the nationally recognized and accredited DMC Rosa Parks Geriatric Center of Excellence.
In collaboration with the Occupational Health Services corporate medical director and executive director, develops, organizes, implements and continually improves clinical operations of central campus DMC-Occupational Health Services (OHS) to insure the effective delivery of all clinical OHS services.
â�¢ Responsible for the day-to-day clinic operations and outreach programs of DMC-OHS, central campus.
â�¢ Identifies opportunities to improve the efficiency and efficacy of clinical processes.
â�¢ Facilitates the management of all DMC-OHS medical records information, forms, documents and charts consistent with department, corporate, Joint Commission and MIOSHA requirements and policy.
â�¢ Assists Director with periodic reports including clinical volume and expense/revenue reports. Assists with monthly reconciliation of financial and volume reports.
â�¢ Participates in committees including DMC-OHS System Operations Committee and other committees as requested.
â�¢ Recruits, orients and evaluates operational nursing and clerical staff of the DMC-OHS clinic. Conducts and/or manages the orientation of new clinical and clerical staff. Conducts annual performance evaluations for clinical and front office clerical staff.
â�¢ Assures/documents the clinical orientation of medical and nursing students, Occupational and Environmental Medicine residents and fellows and other visiting or affiliate staff.
â�¢ Acts as administrative preceptor for DOEM residency program participants.
â�¢ Participates in Physician recruitment, selection and evaluation.
â�¢ As a member of the DMC-OHS administrative team, participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of the DMC-OHS business plan.
â�¢ Facilitates attainment of clinical objectives and goals identified in the plan.
â�¢ Actively engages resources for the development and implementation of new clinical services.
â�¢ Initiates the delivery of new services through the development and presentation of service delivery proposals.
â�¢ Monitors activities for and ensures compliance with laws, government regulations, Joint Commission requirements and DMC policies.
â�¢ As directed, implements external and internal audit recommendations.
â�¢ Ensures hospital departments achieve objectives for diversity of their suppliers.
1. Licensed to practice in the State of Michigan as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, required.
2. Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN). Masterâ��s degree preferred.
3. Three to five years in clinical management in an ambulatory health care setting.
4. Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan.
5. Certification in Occupational Health Nursing (COHN) preferred.
