The Interpreter provides oral interpretations in the specified languages(s). The incumbent maintains accurate and timely records of all interpretation encounters. The interpreter identifies and assists in fulfilling the psychosocial needs of the non-English speaking patients, visitors and guests.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent must be competent and proficient orally in Spanish and English.
One (1) year of experience in medical interpretation in a healthcare setting or equivalent experience, healthcare experience preferred. Must pass a language proficiency examination as designated by Harris Health System (Spanish required)
