The SATP Senior Social Worker is responsible for development, maintenance, and evaluation of social work services for SATP patients. Initiates changes and modifications that will promote efficient practice. Provides direct practice and counseling for those patients with complex problems and coordinates psychosocial services for veterans in the SATP program. Facilities timely referrals for additional professional consultations where clinically appropriate. The Substance Abuse Treatment Program (SATP) Senior Social worker requires experience that demonstrates possession of advanced practice skills and judgment. At least two years should be in an area of specialized social work practice. Senior social workers must be licensed or certified by a state area of specialized social work practice.
