Peer Specialist
This position is located within the Mental Health Care Line (MHCL) at the Cincinnati VA Medical Center, and will function as an interdisciplinary team member, assisting physicians and other professional/non-professional personnel in a rehabilitation treatment program in MHCL. Major Duties: Perform a variety of therapeutic and supportive tasks that include learning new skills, monitoring progress, and modeling effective coping techniques and self-help strategies from their own experience. Assists Veterans to articulate personal goals for recovery through the use of one-to-one and group sessions. Inform Veterans about community and mutual supports and how to use these in the recovery process. Skills in using effective communication skills to teach and engage in problem-solving and conflict
