Position Description
The Diana R. Garland School of Social Work at Baylor University is actively recruiting a new faculty member at the? Clinical Assistant Professor rank.
This position will focus primarily on teaching and skill development for social work students. Candidates must possess a strong background in direct practice with clients and be interested in teaching courses related to social work students' foundational and generalist practice preparation.
Additionally, a background in health-related settings is preferred. However, candidates with practice experience and expertise in various settings are encouraged to apply.
Salary is commensurate with professional experience and qualifications. The ideal candidate will have a philosophy compatible with the University's mission: "to educate men and women for worldwide leadership and service by integrating academic excellence and Christian commitment within a caring community."
Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities include teaching and providing service to the university, the faculty member's professional field, and the community. With the position's primary focus on teaching, the standard expectation is to teach 12 hours per semester. Online courses may also be a part of the teaching load.
Though teaching is the primary focus for this position, research and/or administrative responsibilities may be assigned as needed based on experience, with the potential for course release time depending on assigned duties. The areas of responsibility will vary according to the faculty member's specialty area and specific assignment. Clinical faculty also have opportunities for promotion in rank (i.e., assistant, associate, full).

Qualifications
Qualifications for this position:
Master of Social Work (MSW) degree is required.
D. in Social Work or a relevant doctorate in a related field is preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of direct practice experience in a social work role is required.
Evidence of teaching excellence in the profession of social work is expected.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with others in a dynamic educational environment is expected.
